Role: Lead UX & Product Designer. Company: Expedia
While I was the Lead UX Designer at Expedia/CarRentals.com, I worked on the website, mobile site, and Mobile App. A lot of the work was creating a number of page components, A/B tests, and designs for the booking experience and customer account funnel. I also came up with some new ideas such as a Road Trip budget Tool app as well as a Boarding Pass of sorts called a Car Pass to keep in your wallet for your rental car.
The user journey of a companion travel app that extends beyond mere car rentals. Users can seamlessly plan trips and excursions while accessing valuable resources for car drop-offs, locating gas stations, and other handy tips to enhance their overall travel experience.
High-fidelity designs for the Travel App.
Onboarding screens for the app with a personalized landing screen with car pick-up alerts and other messages to orientate the user and inform them of important things.
A Prototype I made to show the animation and UX for a feature for finding deals for road trips.
New Features to the home screen as well as a new splash screen for the app. User studies were done prior to the design of these to assess what users wanted in the app and their thoughts of the current experience.
I devised two innovative additions to the Expedia app. Each underwent thorough testing via focus groups to gauge their feasibility and viability, generating considerable enthusiasm. The first is a Roadtrip Budget tool, while the second is a Digital Car Pick-up Ticket, seamlessly integrated into your Apple Wallet akin to an airplane ticket.
